A Skinnygirl Cocktails Brand update from none-other then Bethenny Frankel:
Recently, it was announced that I had sold the rights to the Skinnygirl cocktails brand to Beam Global Spirits & Wine, one of the world’s largest spirits companies. You are the ones who made Skinnygirl as popular as it is, so I want to give you all the details about this decision.
The Skinnygirl Margarita was a solution I came up with for a simple problem: We all want a delicious cocktail, but we don’t want the guilt or the hangover.
I knew the product would be a hit, so I brought it to all of the major liquor companies, run by men—incidentally—and no one wanted it. I knew I had a good idea, and as I say in my new book, “A Place of Yes,” never assume that anyone is smarter than you. This was a great idea, and I wasn’t going rely on the opinions of men, when I knew women would be the ones buying and drinking it.
So I decided to develop the product and the brand myself.
Lo and behold: A craze began, an entirely new category in this industry was created, and I had demand for what became the Cabbage Patch Doll of cocktails. We were the Little Cocktail That Could, trying to keep up with unprecedented demand within an industry we were racing to gain an understanding of.
When Beam came along, I was completely reluctant to share or give up my baby. This brand with so much potential was mine to grow. I was the first to come up with this concept, and I wanted to keep it that way—rolling out all of my new flavors, sizes, and marketing ideas. I wanted the ability to go global. I have a great international fan base, and they’re clamoring for Skinnygirl Margaritas as well. At the same time, all of the other liquor giants have been scrambling to try to copy this brand with cheap imitations. My job is to get you a wide variety of high-quality Skinnygirl cocktails as soon as possible.
My decision to “partner” with Beam (and I use that word intentionally) was entered into and decided upon because I will remain integrally involved. I will remain creator, collaborator, marketer, flavor inventor, and idea person. Beam understood that if I wasn’t involved, we couldn’t do this.
I also couldn’t do it to you: my fans who drink this product because you know I created it to be the cocktail you can trust. This will remain the case; I will still look to you for ideas and decisions about what you want next, and I will always put your opinions first.
I think this was a great decision, and I can’t wait for you to try all of the new things I’ve been dying to bring to market for you!
Everyone’s favorite obsessive-compulsive house-flipper is taking on a new role – as a therapist? “Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis” follows Jeff and Jenni as they move into someone else’s home and Jeff does what Jeff does best: redesign their space and judge their flaws. He’ll observe the homeowners, diagnose their problems, and then take over their house for five days – with the goal of improving them inside and out. Of course he does this by using a combination of brutal honesty, impeccable design, and a few unique solutions that only Jeff Lewis could come up with, but he has his trusted assistant Jenni and his loyal housekeeper Zoila along for the ride to make sure he doesn’t go too far over the line. This time, Jeff’s not just redesigning a space; he’s redesigning people’s lives.
(Sounds like ‘Tabatha Salon Take Over’, for interior design!)

The Real Housewives of Athens, Greece —— No Success!
We knew it wasn’t going to be long before Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise went global, but we didn’t expect there to be an opposition like the one we’ve come across against the series.
MSN Philippines News reports that the first international extension of the Real Housewives brand, The Real Housewives of Athens, has ruffled the feathers of TV critics in Greece for the display of opulent spending and excess lifestyles in light of the recent economic crisis that hit the country.
Is Miami the last stop on the train for The Real Housewives franchise?
OK! Magazine has the scoop…
When Bravo launched the Real Housewives of Miami, it seemed like there was hope for a franchise in every city. However, Bravo’s Andy Cohen exclusively tells OK! that Miami is the last stop for the Housewives train. Last night,OK! talked to the host with the most as he helped celebrate MCC Theater’s 25th Anniversary in NYC. Andy sounded off on some of the most controversial housewives in seasons past and he even told OK! which franchise he would love to seeWhitney Houston star in!
When asked about which city he would look to next to find more housewives, he toldOK!, “I really feel like we’re done.” So is Miami the last stop on the Housewives train? Andy answered, “Yeah.”
But if any housewife thinks this is her chance to star in a spin-off series like Bethenny Frankel, she should think again. Andy explained of the other housewives, “I think they’re all good where they are.”
Even though he might think they should stay put in their hometowns, Andy had nothing but love for some of his favorite housewives. The king of Bravo used word association to describe the happy homemakers.
OK! NEWS: MICHAELE SALAHI FIRED FROM CELEBRITY REHAB; HUSBAND TAREQ SALAHI SAYS IT’S ILLEGAL, MAY SUE
OK!: Bethenny Frankel (formerly of NYC and now star of Bethenny Ever After). AC: Hilarious!
OK!: Nene Leakes (of Atlanta and now star of Celebrity Apprentice).
Andy continued to gush about Miss Leakes, “She’s just in your face and fun!”
He then told OK! that he would also like to see Whitney Houston kick it with Nene and the gang on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. “I’d like to see her shake things up with those women.” Maybe she could team up with Kim Zolciak for “Tardy for the Party Part II”!
'Real Housewives of New York City’ star Sonja Tremont-Morgan has managed to have a little bit of success with her bankruptcy matter.
Tremont-Morgan filed for Chapter 11 at the end of last year citing a failed project with Hannibal Pictures Inc. as the reason, states the Wall Street Journal. However, the bankruptcy filing had a negative effect on her court battle over this matter.
Now, the reality TV star has reportedly been granted permission to continue her fight against a previous court decision that made her responsible for the $7 million in question with the failed venture.
Are you surprised so many ‘Housewives’ deal with bankruptcy issues?
Countess' new acting gig, and the new antagonist of RHONYC!
Real Housewives Of New York City star, Countess Luann de Lesseps is filming a guest star role in a new scripted show called Eden for USA Network playing - herself!
Luann is in high demand having only last month played her first scripted role as a high-brow art collector in NBC’s popular crime drama series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
And this time around she feels right at home!
"I’m a socialite!" she said without revealing too much about the new show. “It’s exciting! I’m making the move into scripted. I feel comfortable paying the socialite. I’m good at it!”
Meantime, the Countess dishes that the new season of her hit Bravo reality show will be a “rollercoaster.”
Fans of the New York Housewives, which is returning for its fourth season on April 7, will see a “shift in friendships and new alliances,” said Luann.
"I think it looks very exciting and there’s a lot of drama going on. I think people are invested in our characters."
Last year it was Jill Zarin who butted heads with the leading ladies, and this year it looks like the new antagonist is Ramona Singer.
"Ramona lets a lot of things fall out of her mouth and I think she’s going to have a harder time getting away with that," Luann confessed.
"I think some of us have issues with Ramona and some of us don’t-everybody knows Ramona and she’s always somewhere involved in the drama and I think you’re going to see her bumping heads with some of us this season.
"I try and keep the peace which isn’t always easy. But I’m not push-over, if I have something to say I say, I just say it differently.
Luann has her own set of personal adventures this season, including a studio visit with music legend Natalie Cole, a Sex And The City-style girls-only getaway to Morocco, and finding love with her hunky new beau Jacques Azoulay.
So after the much talked about public break-up with her husband of 16 years last season, has she thought about tying the knot again?
"We’re very close and care very much for each other so you never know! I’m not against marrying again," she confessed.
